Go ahead. Put another notch in my lipstick case!

I bought a lipstick! I refuse to say "another lipstick" because it has been quite a while since my last purchase. The object of my spontaneous affection: Bobbi Brown's "Golden Brown". All of my other shades of lipstick are too red or too orange or "mauve-y" to really be brown. This bullet of color has just a tiny bit of pink to make the color warm enough for people with yellow undertones like moi.
Bobbi has also added new lip liner shades to her line - bought "hot cocoa" to go with this shade. I can't wear lipstick without lip liner. Without it I look like a 5-year old who's gotten into her mother's makeup drawer for the first time. The stuff ends up on my chin!

cinnamon frosting-coconut cream-vanilla cake anyone?

so I was showering this morning and realised that taking a shower in my shower is like taking a shower in a bakery. my shampoo smells like vanilla cake batter, my body wash smells like cinnamon frosting, and my face wash smells like coconut cream pie. all delicious things but I'm ready for something new. a change of scenery. Europe. that's where I want to go. what would Europe smell like? oh! or what about the beach? the scent of warm skin and fruity drinks. huh. now that would be nice.

Before I put another notch in my lipstick case, you better make sure you put me in my place. - Pat Benatar

My skin has finally started to clear up and normalize. No new scary bumps that need their own area code. I still have some hyper-pigmentation but nothing that some time and glycolic peels and a great facialist can't clear up. Thankfully.

And now that things are getting back to normal, I'm starting to enjoy make-up again. I've been avoiding lipstick like the plague because I felt it just seemed to bring out the hyperpigmentation and redness in my skin, but I've worn rouge on my smackers everyday this week. And it's made a unexpected difference - my boss exclaimed earlier in the week "you're wearing make-up!" Keep in mind I was wearing the same amount I always wear - I had just added lips to the look. Huh. Wonder if I'll turn into one of those women in my old age that always has to have her lips on.

What's the one thing you wear to pull your look together?

I'm preparing myself...

My most favorite body cream - Juara's Candlenut Body Cream - is almost all gone. Folks - it's gotten to a point where I'm planning when I'm going to use the cream so I don't "waste" it.

The cream is a bit pricey at $35.00 but oh it's just so nice - it smells good and leaves my skin feeling soft and moisturized without that "sticky" feeling I get from so many other moisturizers. And did I mention that it smells good?

The jar I'm using now was a gift and I don't know if I'll replenish. Oh but I want to. I really, really want to. But I've told myself that I have to finish all the other little bottles of lotion and cream I have rolling around in my bathroom drawer before I even THINK about spending that kind of cheese on a body cream.

I'm also preparing myself for my haircut this weekend. At Ogle. You know that SCHOOL where I've been getting my facials. It's been almost 5 months since my last haircut and I am in desperate need of one. And I thought, since I've had such good experiences with my facials at Ogle, why not try their haircuts? Eeek. I may regret it. But that's the good thing about hair. It grows back. That's what I keep telling myself anyway.
